PB12 House in Bibinje

The house in Bibinje is positioned in the coveted first row to the sea, it serves as a holiday retreat for a large family, envisioned as a cherished meeting point.

Spanning three levels, the house embodies a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. Its stone-clad facade pays homage to local craftsmanship while seamlessly integrating with the coastal landscape. However, the small plot size necessitated innovative design solutions, leading to a minimized building footprint.

To optimize space without compromising on functionality, the house features daring cantilevers extending almost 6 meters, creating a striking visual impression of the building “hovering” over the ground. This architectural feat required a hybrid construction approach, combining the strength of concrete with the flexibility of steel.
